What is NAMA?

NAMA Inc.- An Association of SriVaishnavas is a social-cultural-religious organization of SriVaishnavas (and anyone interested in the SriVaishnava traditions and culture).

The Corporation is organized for the following purposes:

  • To provide a FORUM FOR NETWORKING among SriVaishnavas throughout North America and possibly those in India and other countries as well. The plan is to achieve this through newsletter and data base publications, establishment of local chapters wherever there is enough support and enthusiasm, and annual meeting of all the members.
  • All chapters will conform to the NAMA constitution and by-laws.
  • TO preserve and promote SOCIAL and CULTURAL TRADITIONS of Srivaishnava way of life. The functions and get-togethers are open to anyone interested in learning SriVaishnava traditions, culture and philosophy.
  • To preserve and promote the SriVaishnava RELIGION and PHILOSOPHY through focused group-discussions, classes, etc.
  • To provide a forum for SriVaishnavas as a group to help the community here as well as in India, by promoting religious and cultural traditions of SriVaishnavas.
  • To enable tracing of members’ heritage of India, and to provide a linkage in North America.
  • To GET YOUTH MORE INVOLVED in the activities, be it networking, social, or pursuing humanitarian causes.
  • To work in alliance with other related groups and organizations, complementing their work toward similar goals, and undertake cooperative efforts wherever possible.
  • To conduct training programs, workshops and seminars for the purpose of achieving the goals of the organization.
  • To support humanitarian causes.
